Rules to Live By To Get In Shape

Getting in shape is something that you need to work on, not only at the gym but also in your everyday life. But you do not need to give up all of your pleasures to be fit and healthy.

Here are some tips on how to get in shape and stay fit for the rest of your life.

Do not diet

When you think about getting fit, you probably think about really rigid diets and fasting, but this is actually counterproductive.

Only a small amount of people are actually able to endure any hard dieting, but for most people, it all ends up in overeating. So do not diet. Of course, if you have to lose some weight, cutting a bit of calories is a necessity, but this is usually about 100 calories per day.

Another thing to keep in mind is that when you are working out, you are going to need more food to build muscles and burn unnecessary fat, but since working out makes you more hungry, this can also lead to overeating. That is why you need to eat more protein. Protein is the macronutrient that keeps us full for longer than any other macronutrients. For example, having a protein-rich breakfast will keep you satiated until lunch. If you are interested in breakfasts rich in protein, here are some high protein cereals you might want to try.

But, if you want to be healthy, you are going to need all the macronutrients, including fat. Usually, people (especially people who are trying to lose weight) are afraid of fat, but you should not be. What you need to avoid is saturated fat, but healthy fats are a necessity. This includes things like nut butter, nuts, and avocados.

Exercise, but not every day

You probably read a lot that if you want to get in good shape you have always dreamed of, you have to exercise every day for hours, but this is actually not true or healthy.

If you are new to working out, exercising over your abilities is going to make you lose any motivation to continue, and you are going to be at a high risk of injury.

Out muscles need rest. Sometimes, they require more rest, which means that it may take us a couple of days to be able to exercise again. That is perfectly normal. The more your body gets used to exercise; you are going to need less time to rest. But even then, at least a day per week of no exercise is necessary.

Do not be perfect all the time

Eating the healthiest all the time, and rigidly following your workout schedule is not a possible task. Sometimes we are going to want to eat a piece of cake or a pizza or skip an exercise. Do not consider these things as cheats. Everyone needs to rest and enjoy themselves. But it is important to keep in mind that eating cake is not a reward. The reward is working out because it brings you closer to your goals. But indulging in candy from time to time is a part of that process. But, eating healthy 80 percent of the time is probably going to get you there faster than eating healthy 50 percent of the time.

Enjoy your journey

If you are not enjoying your exercise routine or your meals, change something. By making it fun, you are making it much easier. For example, find exciting recipes or try different workouts. Change up your routine sometimes and keep challenging yourself.

If you are not having fun, you are less motivated to keep working towards your goal. One of the best ways to enjoy your new lifestyle is to find a workout buddy. Not only will you have someone to keep you accountable, but you will have someone to support your journey and make every workout interesting.
